Introduction

Feline plague, also known as feline panleukopenia and feline infectious gastroenteritis, is an acute feline disease with highly contagious infections. Its causative agent is feline parvovirus (FPV), which is highly homologous to canine parvovirus type 2. The virus mainly infects cats. Both domestic cats and wild cats can be infected. It is highly contagious, has a rapid onset, and has a relatively high fatality rate. Panleukopenia generally infected animal body fluids, feces, pollutants, and even spread fleas, susceptible animals primarily through direct or indirect contact with infected.

Principle

The Feline Panleucopenia FPV antibody Rapid test is based on mezzanine lateral flow immunochromatography analysis. The test unit has a test window for observing test runs and reading results. Before running the test, the test window has an invisible T (test) area and a C (control) area. When the treated sample is applied to the sample hole on the device, the liquid flows horizontally across the surface of the test strip and reacts with a pre-coated monoclonal antigen. If there is an FPV antibody in the specimen, a visible T-line appears. Row C should always appear after the sample is applied, which represents a valid result. In this way, the device can accurately indicate the presence of FPV antibody in the sample.

Strage and stablity

The kit can be stored at room temperature (2-30°C). The test kit is stable through the expiration date (18 months) marked on the package label. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.

Test Procedure

Collect cattle’s fresh whole blood, and get the serum or plasma specimen for use. Immediately apply the testing once collected the specimen.

  • Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.

  • Place 2-3 drop (around 70-100uL) of serum or plasma specimen into the sample hole. Start timer and wait for result.

  • Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 15 minutes is considered as invalid.

  • Feline Immuno deficiency

INTERPRETATION OF ASSAY RESULT

- Positive (+): Whether the T line is clear or fuzzy, the "C" line and the region "T" line are present.

- Negative (-): Shows only the sharp C line. No T line.

- Invalid: no color lines in zone C. Whether the T line appears or not.
