Introduction

The Avian Salmonella Ag Rapid test (Rapid salmonella test) is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Avian Salmonella spp. antigen (Salmonella Ag) in feces from bird's cloaca or ground. Eggs contaminated with Salmonella could also be detected with the auxiliary of enrichment broth. Some of the Salmonella spp. are exclusively pathogenic to humans, some are only pathogenic to animals, and some are pathogenic to both humans and animals. Salmonellosis is a general term for different forms of humans, domestic animals and wild animals caused by various types of Salmonella. The feces of a person infected with Salmonella or a carrier contaminates food, which can cause food poisoning.

Principle

Rapid detection of avian influenza salmonella antigen based on sandwich cross immunochromatography. Colloidal gold as an immunomarker began in 1971 when Faulk and Taylor introduced it to immunochemistry. Faulk and Taylor first combined rabbit anti-salmonella antisera Combined with colloidal gold particles, surface antigens of Salmonella were detected by direct immunocytochemistry. Since then, they have combined colloidal gold with anticollagen serum, phytohemagglutinin, ovalbumin, human immunoglobulin light chain, and bovine serum albumin. In 1974 Romano and his colleagues achieved indirect immunogold staining by labeling colloidal gold on equine anti-human IgG. Chromatographic testing reagents first appeared in 1988, is a very convenient pregnancy developed by Unipath using dye particles

Detection reagent. In 1989, Spielberg Fetal. developed a filtration detection reagent using colloidal gold as a marker to detect HIV antibodies. Since then, immunocolloidal gold has been widely applied and developed in rapid detection reagents, and the accompanying chromatographic detection reagent has also made great progress in terms of composition, structure and materials used in production.

Strage and stablity

Test Procedure

Collect cattle’s fresh whole blood, and get the serum or plasma specimen for use. Immediately apply the testing once collected the specimen.

  • Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.

  • Place 2-3 drop (around 70-100uL) of serum or plasma specimen into the sample hole. Start timer and wait for result.

  • Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 15 minutes is considered as invalid.
