Introduction

The non-structural protein 3ABC antibody is considered to be the best indicator for detecting foot-and-mouth disease-infected animals in immunized animal populations. A method was established to detect 3ABC antibodies to the non-structural protein of foot-and-mouth disease for the purpose of distinguishing vaccine-immunized animals from rehabilitated animals or persistently infected animals.

The non-structural protein anti-FMDV antibody 3ABC antibody is only present in animals naturally infected with foot-and-mouth disease virus.

Principle

Foot and Mouth Diseases in goats 3ABC Antibody test based on sandwich transverse flow immunochromatographic analysis. The test unit has a test window for observing test runs and result readings. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated FMDV 3ABC antigens. If there are anti-3ABC antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appears. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of FMDV 3ABC antibodies in the specimen.
